Establishing paternity, custodial and visitation rights

Law Offices of Wm. N. Wootsen III Attn: William N. Wootsen, III, Attorney at Law 03 October, 2003 Dear William, I, Toni Sheping am responding to Tim Jones court petition to establish paternity, custodial and visitation rights for our son, Jimmy Lee Jones. In his petition, he has made several unfounded allegations against me in hopes to undermine my competency and credibility as a good mother and to obtain sole physical custody of Jimmy. It is my purpose to prove his accusations are unjust and are made as a means to achieve his purpose. Mr. Jones's first alleges that I have an incontrollable issue with alcohol. He has blown my social drinking way out of proportion. Presently, I have a couple of beers every once in a while during the weekends…usually in a social setting surrounded by my friends. I make it a rule to never drink in the presence of my children and they are usually either with the father or at their friend's house at that time. Mr. Jones should be made aware that drinking socially is not illegal so as long as it is handled responsibly and he should not determine my competency as a good mother on that basis. I have taken great care of my children single-handily without any incident with the law or anything otherwise. I am currently earning on my college degree, working part-time, and have managed to take care of myself and my children.
